Sinidharau

Rangi yangu inatisha, kweli sio kawaida,
Hata jua yanitisha, kujikinga kwangu shida,
Afisini nikibisha, kupata kazi pia shida,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

Hilo jina kunibandika, kulikubali sikusita,
Matusi sikuyafoka, nikidhani mtasita,
Mwajifanya malaika, mababe kwenye vita,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

Sisi sote tuliumbwa, kwa mfano wake mola,
Sifanani naye mbwa, ambaye mifupa anaila,
Macho yenu yatafumbwa, mkawache ukabila,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

Mwili wangu mkiuona, mwauona utajiri,
Mle hadi mkanona, mgeuke makafiri,
Na magari mkavuna, kutatiza usafiri,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

Leo hii ninalia, kunusuru familia,
Japokuwa tuko mia, madharau twakemia,
Tangu mwaka kendamia, yangu fora nimetia,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

Serikali saidia, ni kilio tumelia,
Kila mtu katulia, kutojali letu nia,
Eti mie mpita njia, nitakufa roho pia,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

Nawasihi ndugu zangu, tuikome ubaguzi,
Kisitiwe kwetu pingu, kinyume cha ukombozi,
Tuitii hata fungu, na mafunzo ya mwokozi,
Jina langu Alibino, ndugu yenu sinidharau.

OCHILO’S LIFE AT THE UNIVERSITY

Ochilo finished form four four years ago,
He is now in the university still a year to go,
He loves no one except his ego,
He loves adventure and ever eager,
But Ochilo doesn’t know how to spend his money.

Ochilo wakes up at dawn,
And reads his books up to noon,
He always takes of being a tycoon,
And even rearing the Maine coon,
But Ochilo doesn’t know how to spend his time.

Ochilo is in the faculty of FIST,
No wonder he loves to feast,
Whenever there is an outing he must be in the list,
Even if it is by force he can use his fist,
But Ochilo doesn’t know how to spend his leisure.

Ochilo is now in fourth year,
He found a lady so dear,
He made to her love so clear,
And promised to built her a house so fleer,
But Ochilo doesn’t know how to spend his love time.

Ochilo’s lover is now gone,
His heart is left torn,
And even his physique is now worn,
He is now left to frown,
But Ochilo should know that that’s part of life.

SWALI LANGU

Mioyo yetu yaumia, ndoto zetu za didimia,
Wakati wetu wa timia, duniani twapitia,
Swali langu kwa wakenya, mbona chuki kwa wenzetu?

Usalama wa mwananchi, ni hekaya kwa Abunuasi
Ukijiburudisha kilabuni, kuamka kesho jinamizi
Swali langu kwa wakenya, atakeyekufa kesho nani?

Ukiamka asubuhi, kufika jioni shukrani
Ukitoka kazini, kufika nyumbani piga dua
Swali langu kwa Wakenya, wauaji hawa kina nani?

Twapoteza wahitajika, kwa vinyweo kadhalika
kwani kifo hakina huruma, kwa mkenya mheshimiwa
dua langu kwake Mola, laza roho zetu pahali pema.

PRIDE OF A KENYAN

Kenya oh Kenya,
The land of my grandfather,
The great land of my father,
And it’s the very land of my mother.

Kenya oh Kenya,
The mighty land of diversity,
With inhabitants full of generosity,
But with leaders full of curiosity.

Kenya oh Kenya,
The motherland of the American president,
And the Oscars award winner what a coincident,
The truth is that they are both proud residents.

Kenya oh Kenya,
The attraction of tourists,
With streets crowded by motorists,
The domicile to award winning journalists.

Kenya oh Kenya,
The market to flavored soft drink, Fanta,
Not forgetting the controversial pastor,
And the ever blood thirsty bounty hunter.

Kenya oh Kenya,
The heartbeat of Africa,
Perfect destination of goods from America,
And traders from everywhere including Antarctica.

Kenya oh Kenya,
The country of unmatchable democracy,
Within every institution the talk is bureaucracy,
But our leaders are driving us to aristocracy.

WABWIRE IS A SCHOLAR!

He is a flourishing educationist,
Always claiming to be a journalist,
While he is a development communication specialist,
A typical poverty reduction strategist

Wabwire is his name,
Struggling to get to the list of fame,
And not on the list of shame,
As some idiots always claim

He is a man of great stature,
An original of God's creature,
Sometimes bragging to be a preacher,
But a poor footballer unlike Darren Fletcher

He is finally a respected scholar,
As flamboyant as a seasonal flora,
With ideas that can never be a magazine filler,
Salute him for supporting the education pillar.

WHEN MUMMY COMES HOME

My mamma is a qualified teacher,
Instilling discipline and good morals into students,
Always shouting good words like a preacher,
Giving knowledge to all including presidents,
When mummy comes home she’ll beat the mediocrity out of me.

My mamma is a qualified doctor,
Treating patients and giving injection,
Always at service and alert as a waiter,
Her main bit revolves around digestion,
When mummy comes home she’ll kick the virus out of me.

My mamma is a qualified engineer,
Machinery arrangement is all her ability,
She is a genius who never rely on questionnaire,
On matters industrial productivity,
When mummy comes home she’ll teach me how to make a toy car.

My mamma is a talented shopkeeper,
Selling milk expensively than ever,
While papa is a veteran gatekeeper,
Getting a bob from him is a great favor,
When mummy comes home she’ll bring me slices of bread.

My mamma is a peasant farmer,
Growing onions on our little piece of land,
All the same she’s hopeful to be a comer,
With plenty produce with which she can lend,
When mummy comes home she’ll bring nothing but smiles.

THE DREAMS OF MY FATHER

My dad had a dream,
A dream to be a good father,
And a fantastic grandfather,
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true

My dad had a dream,
A dream to be a successful teacher,
With a daughter-in-law who is a teacher,
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true.

My dad had a dream,
A dream to have educated children,
In conjunction to respectful grand children,
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true

My dad had a dream,
A dream to own a bungalow,
And to have a child pursuing law,
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true

My dad had a dream,
A dream to own a large heard of cattle,
And various households including kettle,
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true

My dad had a dream,
A dream to own a large piece of land,
And to practice agriculture on the piece of land,
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true

My dad had a dream,
To educate his children up to the university,
And pursue courses of great diversity
But for me I have a task,
A task to make my dad’s dream come true

My dad did not have a dream,
A dream to give birth to a journalist,
A journalist and a good communicator
But this is a task I am entitled to do,
Journalism and poetry are what I was born to do.

AFRICA MY MOTHERLAND

I am an African youthful and very bold,
Our struggle for freedom the tales I’ve been told,
The African culture to me is like gold,
Africa my motherland you are my pride.

In the hands of the white man we suffered a lot,
Through determination our fore fathers fought,
Through thick and thin our freedom we got,
Africa my motherland you are my pride.

The vegetation around the glamour you can feel,
Glossy and beautiful is the topography down the hill,
Oh my goodness the white man was just a pill,
Africa my motherland you are my pride,

Kenya my country my hands I’ll never fold,
Like those without hope suffering in the cold,
I’ll always stand for freedom and fight till I get old,
Africa my motherland you are my pride.

My Inspiration

I have a story so far untold,
But today it’s time to unfold,
I’m a journalist and believe I’m bold,
And this is a fact I wish to uphold.

Many yearn to know my driving force,
What makes me different from fellow pros,
It’s the blood of Pultza shed on the cross,
And the poetry – journalism truss.

Far from the kinky profession,
I boast of a living inspiration,
A lady behind the good culmination,
The unsung hero in my projects’ instigation.

She is a forest of love mire,
Much caring and slow of ire,
Precisely truthful and not a liar,
And a vocalist in the KSUCA choir.

Her name is Mercy meaning compassion,
A lovely lady with whom I’ll abide my affection.
She is a figure of great adoration,
The lady of my greatest approbation.

When I met her I had the fear,
That lasted for barely a year,
Then came my proposal which was sheer,
And she turned me down for reasons very mere.

I had to put on another gear,
With sweet words in her ear,
Just like the cow gee,
And a promise to give a lee.

Then came the day when she admitted,
That I loving her is now permitted,
Then both of us had to be committed,
This only came with someone being omitted,

To her I bet it was so sweet a deal,
Then now she’s got to be self-real,
Since she finally know how I feel,
Thanks babe we’re together even in reel.

My Crush

Will she accept my gaudy flower?
Does she crave for the sifted flour?
Is she in need of a fashion drawer?
I don’t know for I’m in a road race rush.

Her face is charming and free of pimples,
But an actual array of lovely dimples,
Down her chest are beautiful nipples,
The many reasons she is my long term crush.

Famously known as Brigit Claire,
She is tender unlike rugby player,
Like the lady in Beauty and the Beast trailer,
Relax dear for we don’t have to rash.

Journalism is her main passion,
But talks of an alternative which is fashion,
From physical cladding to color fusion,
Real professionalism and the quest for cash.

She is an unmatched dignity,
Being driven by self-propriety,
And always advocating for modesty,
The unbeatable x-tics of my lovely crush.

If told to relax I’ll be glad to wait,
I’ll show persistence to the waiting weight,
Just in quest to get her lovely figure eight,
Patience pays in getting your longtime crush.

BREAKING NEWS

Thierry Henry has been named as assistant manager to Roberto Martínez for the Belgium national team. (Source: Sky Sports)

I SALUTE YOU MAMA

I was born a poet not a charming man,
Whatever I do I believe in yes I can,
From journalism to mending the leaking can,
Thanks to my mum for not being a nun,

Her fantastic care did not make me a rogue,
Under harsh weather conglomerated of fog,
She made sure I was warm even under smog,
The physique I have is her encouragement to jog.

‘Nyar Were’ is the nickname we gave to her,
Her dedication has made us reach far,
Now we’re even able to own a flashy car,
With her we’re no longer where we were.

The beloved mother of Vic the banker,
Very soon I know he will own a tanker,
And build himself a bungalow not a bunker,
That gives comfort even if the weather is danker.

Her first born daughter is Rachel,
The professional biochemist not Cael,
Cladding in a lab coat and carrying a file,
Unlike a machete and a sharpening file.

Having a mother is a great opportunity,
While losing her a woeful eventuality,
Even though one day it will be a reality,
Salute to mums for being great necessities.

CAMPUS LIFE

In first year you’re innocent and tender,
Nonetheless you fear both gender,
Your presence in campus is a great splendor,
Campus life what a life to live!

In second year you like anything better,
Within the institution you are a genius go – getter,
Once offended you highly become bitter,
The campus life what a life to live!

In third year you’re cool and always curious,
A little intimidation makes you feel very furious,
The havoc you cause is not very serious,
The campus life what a life to live!

In fourth year you’re careful and easy to evaluate,
You are one among those ready to graduate,
The campus rumor of course you rarely propagate,
The campus life what a life to live!

REST IN PEACE OTIENO KAJWANG’

In 1956, you came into the world,
Full of humor and ever bold,
Now you’re gone we’re left in cold,
Rest in peace, Otieno Kajwang’

From Mbita constituency hailed a man with passion,
In the political arena he occupied positions,
A political hero, a personality with great precision,
Rest in peace, Otieno Kajwang’

Bado mapambano is the slogan you brought,
A great history is all you wrote,
Never the less it is gone as frost,
 Rest in peace, Otieno Kajwang’

In this world you were a guest,
At Mater hospital you took the rest,
God proved to us that he takes the best,
 Rest in peace, Otieno Kajwang’
